Market cube
MarketCode's pre-computed table of price, price per square metre and turnover for every area, asset class, bedroom band and month, with a graded decision on how much evidence sits behind each cell.
Also called: area facts, pre-cubed statistics, tx_decision.
Definition
Market cube, as the data uses it
The market cube answers "what do two-bedroom flats in SE22 sell for" without scanning sales at request time. Every cell is one area, asset class, bedroom band and month, and every cell carries a tx_decision: direct where thirty or more sales fall in it, modelled where five to twenty-nine do, suppressed where one to four do, imputed where the price is borrowed from the parent geography because the cell had no sales, and missing where there is nothing at all.
Measured over the whole cube, only a small minority of cells are direct and a large share are thin or borrowed. An imputed price looks exactly like a measured one, repeats across cohorts in the same district, and carries a turnover of zero, which is the second tell. Read the decision before quoting the number, and use the ranking tool rather than looping over the cube when the question is a comparison.

Rank areas on a market metric
market_ranking()Rank areas against each other on a market metric — one row per area at the latest period. Defaults to turnover_rate, which is sales as a share of the stock that could have sold: the liquidity measure, as opposed to transaction count, which measures market size.
