Agent market share, as the data uses it
Agent activity is read from listings: who listed what, for sale and to let, in an area over a period. MarketCode ranks agents by listing count with their median asking price and median rent counted separately (an asking price and a monthly rent do not combine into one median), and the listing statistics carry agent concentration as a Herfindahl–Hirschman index and a top-three share.
For an agent it is a market-share view of their own patch; for an investor or a vendor it says who to instruct; for a lender it is one more signal of how a local market is organised.
