Definition
Local authority district, as the data uses it
Local authority districts are the boroughs, districts, unitary authorities and council areas that run planning, council tax billing and housing locally. The Office for National Statistics gives each a nine-character GSS code (Camden is E09000007), but MarketCode tools take the name, because that is what people type and the name is unambiguous once matched.
The sold-price and asking indices, the market cube and the rankings are published for every authority with enough sales; the rent index is validated against the ONS rent index at exactly this grain. A local authority is also the planning authority, which is why the planning tools return the authority and its portal for a location.
