How to connect Claude

Open the connectors settings
On Free, Pro and Max: Customize, then Connectors, then the plus button and Add custom connector. On Team and Enterprise: Organization settings, Connectors, Add, Custom, Web.

Paste the server URL
Enter https://mcp.marketcode.ai/mcp as the URL and give the connector the name MarketCode. Leave headers and keys empty.

Connect and sign in
Choose Connect. Claude opens the MarketCode sign-in (email link, Google or Microsoft); approve the read-only property scope. A new account receives its free credits on first sign-in.

Enable it in a chat
In any conversation, open the plus menu, then Connectors, and switch MarketCode on. Ask a question with an address or an area in it.

Claude reads each tool's description before using it, so it already knows to resolve an address to a UPRN first and to read the evidence grade before quoting a price.
Installing the MarketCode plugin in Claude Code adds the skills too; on claude.ai the connector is the tools alone, and the skills are readable on this site.

Questions about MarketCode in Claude
Do I need an API key?

No. MCP clients sign in with your MarketCode account over OAuth and receive a read-only token. API keys are for the REST API; pasting one into an MCP client does nothing useful and puts a secret where it does not belong.
What does it cost?

The catalogue shows which tools are currently free. Priced tools charge fixed credits per successful call, the same as over REST, and a new account starts with free credits. Every tool page and the pricing page show the price; a failed call is not charged.
What can a connected assistant do to my account?

Read property data and spend credits at the catalogue price. The scope is read-only property data; it cannot see or change your keys, billing or account, and you can revoke the connection in the Hub at any time.
Which Claude plans support custom connectors?

All of them. Free, Pro and Max users add a custom connector from their own settings; Team and Enterprise administrators add it for the organisation from Organization settings.
