Credit, as the data uses it
A credit is the unit on the price table. Free tools (35 of 57 today) cost none and still appear in usage. Priced tools cost a fixed number per successful call, the same over MCP and REST, and the price has a stated ground: licensed data in the response, a model run, or a query you shaped. A call that fails is not charged; a shaped query is charged once it reaches the warehouse.
A new account receives a grant of credits at sign-up and buys packs after that. Every REST response carries the credits charged and the remaining balance, and the Hub shows the ledger. The pricing page lists every call.
