Council tax band
The A to H (A to I in Wales) valuation band the Valuation Office Agency assigns every domestic property, based on its value at 1 April 1991 (2003 in Wales); read from the list, never predicted.

Council tax bands were set on 1991 values in England and have never been revalued; Wales revalued in 2003 and added a band I. The band is on the VOA's public list and it determines which multiple of the band D charge a property pays, but the charge itself is set by each billing authority and is not held here.
Every band MarketCode returns is declared: read from the VOA list, with a field saying so, and a predicted band would arrive as a distinct value rather than folded in. Three fields come back null on purpose (the annual cost, the effective date, the composite flag) because inventing them would be wrong. A not-found status means the address matching has not linked the UPRN to the list, not that the property has no band.
